The ACNielsen Consumer Attitudes Towards Private Label Global Study was conducted in 38 markets across North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe and South Africa. More than 21,000 consumers were surveyed online in May of 2005 to gauge their attitudes, opinions and awareness about private label products and brands, also commonly referred to as “supermarket own” or “store” brands.
